Antique Mughal Pen Case, A Magnificent Mughal Carved Ivory Pen Case With Inkwells And Gilt Silver Compartments, Mughal-India, Probably Rajasthan, Circa 17th-18th Century.

Of a rectangular form standing on four feet, finely composed of engraved ivory panels, decorated throughout with floral roundels or medallions and V shaped boarder, the box is fitted with silver hinges and locking flap.

The box interior consists of two ivory penholders and two tinned and gilt copper inkwells.

THIS ITEM WAS SOLD BEFORE THE IVORY BAN BECAME FORCE IN THE UK, ON THE 6TH. OF JUNE 2O22

Condition

Very good with tiny hair line to the interior with minor wear and tear.
