Description
The tankard shaped cast brass grain measurer of a cylindrical form is fitted with one side handle, the plain body contains a raised inscribed cartouche of Jawi script (Malay script written with Arabic alphabet) containing the words The Brunei Just King and the year of making the object probably 1312= 1894 AH. or 1322 AH= 1903AD.
The grain measurer was made during the reign of the Brunei King Hashim Jalilul Alam Aqamaddin Ibni Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien II.
The King was the 25th Sultan of Brunei his reign was from 1885-1906 AD.
He was also known as Pengiran Temenggong Sahibul Bahar Pengiran Anak Hashim.
Condition: some old repair and led soldering.

16.8 cm height.
18.5 cm diam. of top.
24 cm the width including the top and handle.
